National Mortgage
For Sale by Owner (FSBO)
Many years ago when you wanted to sell your home, you used to put a "For Sale" sign out front. People who saw the sign and had interest in the property would stop. All the marketing and negotiation were carried out by the seller. You can still do this but it is more common for an agent to be involved in this process. The agent generally receives 6% of the sale price although a lesser fee or a flat fee can be negotiated. If you are looking to save money and know the property market well, have some skills in negotiating and have time on your hands to show clients your home, selling your home without an agent may very well be an option for you. Approximately 15% of people successfully sell their homes themselves without the help of an agent. You will also have to desensitize yourself from criticism about your home, as you will most likely hear it from people as they tour and inspect the home.
